AdviseCenter reported that President Bush signed the Secure Fence Act. Unfortunately we were not the only ones fooled. I reported that Ed Royce ( R ) Fullerton had stated that Bush had signed the bill. The breaking news is that the President signed the appropriations bill but did not sign the authorization bill for the fence. This a common tactic used by politicians to scam, fool you stupid voters into thinking that your representatives are doing your will. The bill signed on Wednesday in Arizona only funds homeland security but does not compel enforcement or the fence. A pocket veto will occur if 10 days go by and the bill is not signed when the senate is in recess.
The President is going to sign the bill according to the liaison to congress. According to Ed Royce the bill is still in the enrollment process. We will be following this issue because if Bush does not sign this I feel this is the straw that broke the elephants back for the republican party. The Foley scandal does not affect our country like Bush’s failure to sign this will. The Foley scandal is a personal, possibly criminal act on the part of an individual congressman. If Bush fails to sign the Secure Fence Act it will be a deliberate act on the part of the executive branch to fool the citizens in favor of those bankrolling the parties. Oh by the way Bush also said that North Korea would not get a nuclear bomb. Well they say they have one and have tested it over the weekend. I am an independent because I don’t trust either party. I usually vote a conservative ballot but I am not so sure that selling our country to the corporations in order to get conservative politicians is worth it anymore. If the Democrats would stop pushing there liberal agenda and go back to defending the working man the donkeys would be my choice. We can only dream!!! Mr. Conklin are you there ? Do you have the bill?? Call your congressmen!!!
